Our Story
IRIS Sustainable Development is an Organization established in 2020 in Stockholm, Sweden by people that share a common vision; to promote and raise awareness of sustainable thinking and way of living. Specifically, IRIS’s members believe in the interconnection among economic wellbeing, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
For that reason, the founders of the Organization agreed on the name “IRIS”, believing in the values and the ideas behind it. According to ancient Greek mythology, Iris was a goddess serving as both a personification of the rainbow and a divine messenger of the Gods. Particularly, Iris was leaving behind her the rainbow which symbolizes the hope, after the storm and the better days that are about to come. For IRIS Sustainable Development’s team, the name encapsulates their dedication to a common objective: to inspire and motivate people to become a cogwheel of the change, aiming at creating a better and more sustainable future.
